Cabo Roig

Cabo Roig is a popular Orihuela Costa beach resort located on the southern Costa Blanca.

Located between La Zenia towards the north and Campoamor toward the south, Cabo Roig is just 10 km from the city of Torrevieja.

With a fantastic micro-climate all year round and easy access to both Murcia-Corvera and Alicante-Elche airports, both that can be reached within an hour, it is therefore no big surprise Cabo Roig has become a mainstream place for holidaymakers and individuals owning second-homes, as well as residence for a large permanent expat population.

Cabo Roig is also world famous for its St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the largest in mainland Europe and in the most recent National Geographics top 10 places in the world for where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Cabo Roig came in at number 9 ahead of Auckland in New Zealand.

Beaches

Like other resorts on the Orihuela Costa, Cabo Roig is known for its fantastic award winning blue flag beaches and is popular with visitors from northern Europe,  as well as residents of the neighbouring province Murcia who regularly spend their weekends at the resort.

Cabo Roig is a typical seasonal holiday resort with the busiest periods during the summer months of July and August and at its calmest in the winter.

Many people find May and October the best times to visit Cabo Roig as the climate is still warm, not very hot and sticky, and it is outside the school holidays.

Marina

The Cabo Roig marina is one of two marinas on the Orihuela Costa. Situated in a stunning location overlooked by an sixteenth century watchtower, it has more than 200 moorings, a restaurant and sanitary facilities.

Food and Drink

When people eat or drink out in Cabo Roig they refer to the ‘Strip’. You are spoilt for choice with the fine cooking and eateries and drinking establishments that Cabo Roig has to offer.

The ‘Strip’ is a road running parallel to the national road N-332 which is lined with bars, clubs and restaurants offering something for everyone. During the warm early evenings this is an extremely popular place for families and friends to mix, before turning late evening into a party atmosphere that continues till dawn the next day.

If the bustle of  the ‘Strip’ is not your style, then do not worry. Behind the ‘Strip’ you can find an equally excellent selection of bars and restaurants with a more relaxed atmosphere.

No matter what your taste or tipple is, you will find it hard not to be satisified with what the establishments at Cabo Roig have to offer.
